COURSE DESCRIPTION

MSc Web technologies

This is an advanced course for graduates who wish to develop skills for producing interactive and secure websites. The underlying principles of Internet commerce, efficient website design, e-business applications and graphical interfaces are explored in this course. Critical evaluation of the website design strategies is also explored.

Creativity is the cornerstone for all the Masters programmes provided by the Bradford Media School. The programmes of study on our courses aim to enable students to develop advanced level knowledge, skill and understanding within this field, in order to equip them to become well-qualified professionals able to take a lead in the development and design of state-of-the-art technologies. This course provides opportunities for students to gain a sound understanding of the concepts, systems and methodologies, alongside development of practical abilities and discipline skills appertaining to the field of study. The course also provides opportunities for students to apply specialist skills and knowledge across specific areas of study, and to demonstrate critical judgement, research ability and proficiency in project management. Further personal transferable skills are developed as a core thread throughout all of the MSc courses.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Generally, applicants are expected to possess a good Honours degree in an area relevant to their proposed programme of study from an approved degree-awarding body; or else to have a good Honours degree in any subject, together with skills and experience in a relevant area.

In addition, if your first language is not English, a test of written and spoken English normally needs to have been passed at grade 6.0 for IELTS (with no subtest below 5.5) or for TOEFL (87 for the Internet-based test).
